Hello and Welcome!

My name is Matt Schwartz and I am a freelance audio engineer, sound designer, & re-recording mixer (& amateur voice actor). I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Chapman University's Dodge College of Film. Over the last 15 or so years working in Los Angeles, I have developed my skills by working in audio on all different types of projects, and with every type of creative mind.  And I've even worked for 3 years as an audio instructor at the Los Angeles Recording School. And I love what I do.

I have been fortunate over the years to have films I've mixed distributed on all major platforms and featured in many of the major film festivals around the world: Sundance, SXSW, Palm Springs Intl., and the Oldenburg Film Festival to name a few. I have also worked on several major ad campaigns for brands like Overstock.com, Affirm, Jameson, Soylent, Yeti, and many more. In 2023, I recieved an EMMY AWARD for my work on the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Fox Sports.

From a young age I've been drawn to the collaborative process. I love the experience of working with fellow filmmakers and friends (a bonus when it’s both) to achieve a common goal. And from my time in film school, I realized how important sound design was to film’s success, and how many great projects suffer as a result of poor production and/or post sound. In my sound design work, I have found a unique way to help people achieve their creative vision. I have come to love the challenge of making a story clearer through its sound and the fact that sound design is a different journey each time.

So, please take a look around the site, and check out a few samples of my work. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have or inquiries about possible work together. My information can be found on the "Contact" page. Thank you for visiting, and I hope to work with you soon!

-Matt
